Shipping & Delivery Terms
Every painting by Sergiu Catarau is a one-of-a-kind original and is packed with the greatest care and shipped worldwide.
Worldwide shipping
We ship our artworks to every country in the world. Deliveries within Germany, to the EU and to countries worldwide are possible by individual arrangement.
Professional packaging for artworks
Every painting is packed to museum standards:
- Acid-free protective film directly on the paint layer
- Foam corner protectors
- Multi-layer wrapping with bubble wrap
- Sturdy double-wall corrugated outer box
- For overseas and valuable works: custom wooden frame or shipping crate
- Humidity and shock indicators for international shipments
Shipping partners
We work with logistics partners specialised in art transport (DHL Express, UPS, FedEx and, where needed, specialised fine-art shippers).
Transport insurance
All shipments are fully insured up to the value of the artwork. Insurance is included in the shipping price.
Delivery times (estimates)
- Germany: 2–5 working days
- European Union: 3–10 working days
- United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway: 5–14 working days (incl. customs clearance)
- USA, Canada: 7–14 working days
- Rest of the world: 10–21 working days
The exact delivery time and shipping price are calculated individually based on destination, size and value of the work and communicated before the contract is concluded.
Customs duties and import taxes (outside the EU)
For deliveries to countries outside the European Union, customs duties, import VAT and other charges may apply. These costs are borne by the buyer and are NOT included in the purchase price. We provide all documents required for customs clearance (invoice, proof of origin, CITES documentation if applicable).
VAT
In accordance with § 19 UStG (German small business regulation), no VAT is charged or shown on our prices.
Delivery and handover
Delivery requires a signature. We recommend checking the package for external damage immediately upon receipt and, if necessary, documenting it directly with the carrier.
Transport damage
Should a work arrive damaged despite careful packaging, please report it within 48 hours of receipt by email to Kontakt@sergiucatarau.com with:
- Photos of the damaged packaging (outside and inside)
- Photos of the damaged work
- Copy of the delivery note
We will immediately handle the claim with the transport insurance.
Ordering process
As every painting is unique, purchases are made by personal arrangement via email or WhatsApp. After your enquiry you will receive an individual offer including shipping costs and delivery time.

- For international buyers: Wise, Revolut or international bank transfer
