Davai ceas, davai palton

The painting illustrates human suffering, caught between war, fear, and dehumanization. The expression “Davai ceas, davai palton” (Give me your watch, give me your coat) evokes a historical period when conquest and plunder became symbols of humiliation and the loss of freedom. The work is an artistic outcry against violence, propaganda, and the cruelty of war.
